I Am Groot - First two seasons
I am Groot is an amusing animated series, not groundbreaking, but a fun pastime for young and old.
Over the years, humor has come to play a greater role in the Marvel universe. The film Ant-Man with Michael Douglas (The Streets of San Francisco) from 2015 had already been made with a lot of humorous moments, and Deadpool with Ryan Reynolds (Two Guys and a Girl) from 2016 as the mutilated antihero with terribly morbid humor added several more scoops on top and was also a commercial highlight. However, 2014 marked the start of Guardians of The Galaxy, a feature film about a group of intergalactic smugglers who steal an object that causes them a lot of trouble.
Disney eventually took over film studio 21st Century Fox in 2019, thereby also acquiring ownership of several Marvel characters. Disney also acquired Guardians of the Galaxy and one of the characters was an ideal character for the famous animation studio. The group of smugglers from Guardians of the Galaxy also know 'Groot', a very strong tree of a character that can only pronounce three words: "I am Groot". With very different intonations, actor Vin Diesel knows how to pronounce that sentence in so many variations that it is clear what exactly Groot means.

The first two seasons can be viewed within an hour in four to six-minute videos. It's much more fun to watch a few episodes every now and then than all of them in a row. Most of them are funny and cheerful in tone. Baby Groot grows up, becomes angry, disappointed and afraid, discovers strange nature on different planets, but also comes into contact with robots and spaceships. The videos are beautifully made and very different storylines have been devised. In addition to Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper (Alias) and Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) also lend their voices to the series. I am Groot is an amusing animated series, not groundbreaking, but a fun pastime for young and old. Work is already underway on the third season.

Groot resembles a tree and looks impressive, but is the epitome of goodness. Innocent and despite the power he possesses, very peaceful. Disney decided to make a series of animated shorts about this interesting character. Disney has done this in five episodes per season and with two seasons so far, we can look back on ten short films about Groot. It is about the young baby Groot who grows up on his planet and experiences all kinds of different things there. Apart from the characters, the series has no real connection with the developments in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.Apart from the characters, the series has no real connection with the developments in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
