Trailer and poster for Prime Video's coming-of-age comedy series I'm a Virgo

I'm a Virgo is coming to Prime Video in June, and the streaming service has now released a trailer and poster showcasing the coming-of-age comedy series that follows a giant teen.

Starring Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us), Brett Gray (On My Block), Kara Young (The Punisher), Allius Barnes (Cruel Summer), Olivia Washington (Mr. Robot), Mike Epps (The Upshaws) and Carmen Ejogo (True Detective), the comedy series follows a 4-foot-tall young man who explores his world for the first time.



Prime Video revealed more about the new series in a press release:

"Today Prime Video released the official trailer and poster of the highly anticipated mythical coming-of-age comedy I'm a Virgo, starring Emmy-winning actor Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us, Moonlight). The series is conceived, written and produced by colorful sock-wearing filmmaker Boots Riley, who directed all seven episodes, and Jerome also serves as an executive producer.

All seven episodes of the Amazon Original Series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world on Friday, June 23. I'm a Virgo will be part of the savings, convenience and entertainment Prime members enjoy in a single membership.

I'm a Virgo is a darkly comedic fantastical coming-of-age joyride about Cootie (Jerome), a 4-foot-tall young black man in Oakland, California. After growing up in a hidden environment, on a diet of comic books and TV shows, he escapes to experience the beauty and contradictions of the real world. He makes friends, finds love, navigates tricky situations and meets his idol, a real-life superhero named The Hero, played by Walton Goggins (Sons of Anarchy, The Righteous Gemstones). I'm a Virgo is a mythical odyssey that questions the purpose of the mythical odyssey.

I'm a Virgo is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Media Res Studio. Boots Riley and Tze Chun (Gotham) are co-showrunners on the series and serve as executive producers, alongside Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res Studio (Pachinko, The Morning Show), Jharrel Jerome, and Rebecca Rivo (Person of Interest). ). The series features original music and score by art-pop duo Tune-Yards.
