And again a series has been taken to the cemetery of cancelled series. BBC Three has decided to choose new talent and not their zombie drama series ‘In The Flesh’. For the fans of ‘In The Flesh’ this means that there will be no third season but only two seasons without any closure.
The reason for this decision is money. Here's the official statement from BBC Three:
BBC Three is very proud of the two award-winning series of 'In the Flesh'. However, given there is only budget for one original drama series a year on the channel it won’t be returning.
We loved the show but have to make hard choices to bring new shows through and create room for emerging talent. Huge thanks to the BAFTA award-winning writer Dominic Mitchell and the superb cast.
Mitchell responded to the news on Twitter and wrote, “Sad news today. I’d like to thank the BBC, the incredible cast & crew and the amazing fans for making & supporting #InTheFlesh”
There is still a glimmer of hope that the series may be shopped somewhere else, just like the series ‘Ripper Street’, because Mitchell stated that the series will not just fade away. Though the chances are slim, but we at MySeries will keep an eye out for news of course.
