Ben Daniels cast in second season Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire

Ben Daniels (Foundation (2021)) has been cast in a regular role in the upcoming second season of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire on AMC.

The contemporary adaptation of Rice's gothic novel follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia's (Bailey Bass) story of love and immortality as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian).

The series is based on the Rice book, which was made into a movie in 1994 starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

Daniels (pictured) plays Santiago, the lead vampire of the Theater des Vampires who grows increasingly suspicious of American vampires Louis and Claudia. He recently wrapped up the second season of Apple's Foundation (2021) opposite Lee Pace and Jared Harris. His recent work includes Jupiter's Legacy for Netflix and a role as Lord Snowden in The Crown. Other television roles include Fox's The Exorcist and Starz's Flesh and Bone.

Rolin Jones (Perry Mason (2020)) serves as the creator, showrunner and writer of Interview with the Vampire. The eight-episode second season is set in Prague. Oscar and Emmy Award-winning producer Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and Jones serve as executive producers. Anne and Christopher Rice serve as non-writing producers.

AMC Networks acquired the rights to Rice's works in 2020 with Interview with the Vampire being the first title to be developed and greenlit for a series. The second series, Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches, starring Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa and Harry Hamlin, has been renewed for a second season. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
