IT: Welcome to Derry is set in the world of King’s It universe and expands on the vision that filmmaker Andy Muschietti has developed in the feature films, which have grossed $1.17 billion worldwide.
The series is based on a story by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, based on King’s novel It. In addition to Skarsgård, the cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso
Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti are executive producers through their production company Double Dream, along with Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Lee and Dan Lin. Fuchs, who wrote the script for the first episode, and Kane serve as co-showrunners.
IT: Welcome to Derry premieres this fall on HBO and HBO Max.
