IT: Welcome to Derry unveils new teaser at San Diego Comic-Con

The creepy prequel series IT: Welcome to Derry, based on Stephen King's iconic horror universe, will debut on HBO and HBO Max in October.
A new teaser for IT: Welcome to Derry was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, starring Taylor Paige as a young woman who moves to the small town of Derry with her husband just as a dark force begins making children disappear. Although Pennywise (played again by Bill Skarsgard) only appears briefly, his terrifying presence permeates the entire teaser.

The series takes place in the film universe created by Andy Muschietti, whose two films have grossed over $1.17 billion worldwide. Muschietti directs multiple episodes and developed the series with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, who also serves as co-showrunner.

The cast includes: Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgard.

Wow Dave, you've been very busy with that Comic Con :-) Thanks for all the news.
I'm also curious about this series. Pennywise is at his best when he's rarely seen, kind of like the shark in Jaws. That's why the second film was a bit weaker. I'm curious to see how they'll address that here.

No problem, of course. I find it all incredibly interesting myself. I am glad there isn't a Comic-Con every week, though, haha. I'm also curious about this series, but I do hope we don't see too much of Pennywise. Less is more.

I'm really looking forward to IT: Welcome to Derry! The teaser immediately sets the tone: dark, oppressive, and with that signature menace that fans of the films will recognize. Andy Muschietti directing multiple episodes is reassuring: the visual and thematic DNA of the films will remain. Hopefully, the series will delve deeper into the origins of evil in Derry and give us more insight into the history of this doomed city.

According to the book "IT," evil is ancient, if not much older, and it rises every 27 years, "harvests" fresh blood, and then goes back to sleep. It's supposedly of extraterrestrial origin. But I'm not entirely sure anymore. It's been a long time since I read the book.
