The company doesn't share viewing figures consistently, making direct comparisons difficult. However, Disney has sometimes provided insight into the performance of some titles in the past, albeit with different measurement periods.
For example, the first episode of Agatha All Along attracted 9.3 million views in seven days last year, while The Acolyte achieved 11.1 million in five days. Disney recently reported that the film Zombies 4 received 9.3 million views in ten days. However, these titles target a different audience, making them an inadequate benchmark for King of the Hill. Nielsen may provide additional insights later, but their streaming reports won't be released for a few weeks.
According to Disney, season 14 of King of the Hill debuted in Hulu's Top 15 Today and has remained consistently in the top 5 since its launch on August 4th. Furthermore, the hype since March has led to a 41% increase in viewing of previous seasons.
In total, King of the Hill has now been streamed more than 1 billion hours worldwide on Disney+ and Hulu.
Set in the fictional Arlen, Texas, the original series follows the lives of Hank Hill, an enthusiastic propane and related accessories salesman; his wife Peggy, a local Boggle champion and substitute teacher; and their son Bobby, who doesn't live up to Hank's expectations for a son.
Hank's friends—conspiracy theorist Dale, army barber Bill, and the cool but obscure Boomhauer—as well as Peggy's friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy, and Bobby's girlfriend Connie, help the Hills cope with a changing world.
In season 14, Hank and Peggy return to a changed Arlen after years of working in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement. They try to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his twenties with former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.
The cast includes Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss.
