Production on Landman season two begins and Demi Moore's role gets bigger

Paramount+ has announced that filming has begun on a second season of Landman.
Taylor Sheridan's drama has begun filming new episodes following its successful debut season last fall. Joining star Billy Bob Thornton — who plays an operations manager for a Texas oil company — is Demi Moore, who returns following her Oscar nomination for The Substance.

Moore played Cami, the wife of an oil executive (Jon Hamm), in the debut season, which was criticized for not giving the actress more to do. In the new season, Moore's name is second only to Thornton, and co-creator Christian Wallace has hinted that the character will have a larger role in the new episodes. "There's a lot more to tell about Cami," Wallace told Variety. "Taylor has big plans, that's all I'm going to say."

The second season also stars Oscar nominees Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore.

A start date has not yet been set, but given the production timing, Landman could very well return before the end of the season.

Landman ranked as a Top 10 SVOD Original Series in the fourth quarter of last year, along with two other Sheridan dramas on Paramount+, Tulsa King and Lioness. The series ranked as the most-watched global premiere and series finale in Paramount+ history and earned Thornton a Golden Globe nomination.

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a contemporary tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is a story of rough diamonds and wild billionaires who fuel a boom so big it’s changing our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.
