Paramount+ Casts Sam Elliott for Landman Season 2

Paramount+ Casts Sam Elliott for Landman Season 2

Taylor Sheridan has tapped a favorite from his Yellowstone repertoire to join the cast of Landman.
1883 actor Sam Elliott has been added to the second season of the Billy Bob Thornton drama Landman for Paramount+. Unfortunately, no information has been shared about his new role in the Texas oil industry series. Production on season two is currently underway.

Elliott (pictured) won the Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in Sheridan’s 1883 and received an Academy Award nomination and a National Board of Review Award for his role in A Star Is Born. His other film roles include The Big Lebowski, Tombstone and The Contender. From 2016 until its conclusion in 2020, Elliott played Beau Bennett in the Netflix series The Ranch.

Co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman was ranked as a Top 10 SVOD Original Series – across all SVODs (streaming video-on-demand) for Q4 2024, alongside Paramount+’s Tulsa King and Lioness. The premiere episode had 35 million global streaming viewers, setting new records for Paramount+.

In addition to Thornton, Landman also stars Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore.

Sam Elliott is a perfect fit for the second season of Landman. His distinctive charisma and deep voice make him ideally suited for roles in rugged, American landscapes, such as West Texas where Landman is set. Elliott knows better than anyone how to portray a character that is both tough and morally complex.
I'm looking forward to the second season!
