Paul Ben-Victor has landed a major recurring role opposite Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre on HBO's Lanterns. The series, from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, follows newcomer John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic agents who find themselves caught up in a dark, earthly mystery while investigating a murder in the heartland of America.
Ben-Victor (pictured) plays Antaan, an alien dedicated to uncovering the truth and exacting revenge on those who have wronged his people. Consumed by a deep and relentless hatred of the law, he is determined to bring justice on his own terms.
Ben-Victor, best known for his work on HBO’s The Wire and Vinyl, has a recurring role as Ilan Roklov on the hit Netflix comedy series Nobody Wants This and was recently seen in a recurring role on Power Book III: Raising Kanan for Starz.
In addition to Pierre and Chandler, Ben-Victor joins the previously announced cast of Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen. Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, Nathan Fillion and Chris Coy have recurring roles.
HBO is producing the eight-episode series Lanterns in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. Mundy, who serves as showrunner, Lindelof and King co-wrote and executive produced.
