Las Azules (Women in Blue) Renewed for Second Season by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has renewed the acclaimed Spanish-language series Las azules (Women in Blue) for a second season.
Ariel Award nominee Bárbara Mori reprises her role in Las azules (Women in Blue), joining returning actors Ximena Sariñana, Natalia Téllez and Amorita Rasgado. The eight-episode second season, featuring an all-Latin American cast, is currently in production.

Las azules

Set in 1971 and inspired by true events, the second season of Las azules (Women in Blue) continues the story of the four women who defied the ultra-conservative norms of the time to become Mexico’s first female police force.

María (Mori), now promoted to lieutenant, is torn between the rules she swore to uphold and a relentless pursuit of the truth when the murder of a young student is followed by more victims and a deeper conspiracy revealed. As the killings become more brutal and the lines between perpetrator, victim and avenger blur, María, Ángeles (Sariñana), Gabina (Rasgado) and Valentina (Téllez) find themselves caught in a maze of hidden secrets and painful reckonings.

The series is created by showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi. Wendy Riss, Erica Sánchez Su and Billy Rovzar are the executive producers. The series is produced by Lemon Studios.
