Life on Mars is een Britse sciencefiction-/politieserie van de zender BBC One. De serie ging in première op 9 januari 2006.
De hoofdpersoon van de Life on Mars is hoofdinspecteur (DCI) Sam Tyler van het Greater Manchester politiekorps, die in 2006 wordt aangereden door een auto en wakker wordt in 1973. Daar blijkt hij als inspecteur werkzaam te zijn onder leiding van DCI Gene Hunt, die er weinig zachtzinnige opsporingsmethoden op na houdt. Het is de vraag of Sam gek is geworden, in coma ligt of echt terug is gegaan in de tijd.

The Footie
Sam and Gene go undercover in a local pub to solve the murder of a local Manchester United fan. As Gene looks like he's set to drink the pub dry, Sam worries about their chances of finding the killer before Saturday's big match. With the press using the murder to fuel the flames of hate between rival fans, Sam is under pressure to solve the murder before the tensions destroy the community.
