Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors, When We Rise). Alongside his best friend (Jurnee Smollett-Bell, True Blood) and his uncle (Courtney B. Vance, Genius) he travels through racist America in the fifties, trying to find his missing father. The series is set to premiere on the 16th of August.
The horror series is based on the book with the same name from Matt Ruff from 2016. Misha Green (Underground) serves as showrunner. Next to that, Green will produce alongside Bill Carraro (Escape at Dannemora), Yann Demange (Top Boy), J.J. Abrams (Westworld) and Jordan Peele (The Twilight Zone (2019)). Demange also directed the first episode.
