Low Winter Sun won't get a chance to rise

AMC has decided to cancel 'Low Winter Sun' after its first season.

It doesn’t come as a surprise, although AMC does not often cancel shows after its first season, Rubicon is the only other AMC show that was canceled after one season.

The show, based on a British miniseries and starring Mark Strong ('Green Lantern') was never able to pull in viewers. Even with the increasingly popular 'Breaking Bad' leading it in, the new crime drama's ratings started low and continued to drop.

It’s very unlikely that 'Low Winter Sun' will get the same treatment as AMC’s 'The Killing', which has been famously saved from cancellation twice and picked up by Netflix.
