The fifth season of Lucifer will release on Netflix in 2020. It was thought that season 5 was going to be the final season. Earlier this year, the showrunners signed a new contract, Tom Ellis has now also done the same.
With that deal he probably indicates that he wants to participate in a possible new season and thereby wants to take on the role of the devil again. In addition, it appears that Netflix is already talking to Warner Bros. Television to extend the series. It is not yet officially known that a sixth season is coming, but with this devilish deal a new season is coming dangerously close and the work of the devil on earth does not seem to be coming to an end.

The dissatisfied ruler of hell, Lucifer (Tom Ellis), renounces his title in the series and leaves his kingdom for the bustle of Los Angeles. There he soon finds the tension that he sought by assisting the Los Angeles police in punishing criminals. In LA he befriends police detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), who does not want to believe that he is the devil in human form. He helps her with various murder cases.
