Craig Zobel will direct HBO series Mare of Easttown

Mare of Easttown is a new American drama series from the HBO channel. The start date of the series is not yet known.

A detective in Pennsylvania (played by the famous actress Kate Winslet) investigates a local murder in Mare or Easttown at a time when her own life is crumbling. Yesterday, HBO reported that Craig Zobel will be the director and executive producer of the series, which will consist of seven episodes.

Originally, Gavin O'Connor was going to be the director, but he is abandoning it and remains an executive producer. Mare of Easttown was written by Brad Ingelsby. Craig Zobel is best known for his previous work with The Leftovers, Westworld, American Gods and One Dollar. HBO has hired him for two years for the time being.
