French horror series Marianne cancelled by Netflix

Marianne is a French horror series that was made by Netflix. The first season premiered in September 2019. It consists of eight episodes.

Marianne revolves around a novelist named Emma (Victoire Du Bois), who constantly has the same nightmare. She uses the witch from these dreams as a character in her books. But soon she finds out that her horrific stories actually happen. She returns to her family to face her nasty past and deal with the source of her inspiration.

The French series is made by Samuel Bodin. He now states the following: “Netflix has chosen not to order a second season from Marianne. Sorry about this, we are disappointed. Hopefully we will see you again with new stories. ” Netflix's decision to cancel the series is remarkable, because Marianne did quite well. The series has a 7.5 on IMDb, which is great for a horror series.
