Masterpiece on PBS reveals premiere date for miniseries Maryland

Masterpiece on PBS has announced the premiere date for Maryland, the three-part miniseries starring Eve Best, Suranne Jones and Stockard Channing. The drama that first bowed in the UK will premiere April 7 at 9 p.m. ET. It follows two estranged sisters who are brought together over the death of their mother, Maryland. They learn she had been living a secret life on the Isle of Man, far from the home she shared with her husband and father of their two daughters.



“MaryLand is an emotional journey of two estranged sisters who are determined to find the truth about their mother,” said Masterpiece EP Susanne Simpson. “Suranne Jones and Eve Best deliver stunning performances in this wonderful show.”

Jones was seen in Scott & Bailey, in which she played Det. Inspector Rachel Bailey starred and for which she was also executive producer. She also played roles in the psychological thriller series Doctor Foster, drama series Save Me (2018) alongside Lennie James, the historical drama series Gentleman Jack and the limited crime series Vigil.

Best had television roles in Showtime's medical comedy-drama series Nurse Jackie starring Edie Falco, the Netflix fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga, and can be seen as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen in HBO's House of the Dragon.

Channing's roles include Abbey Bartlet for seven seasons on NBC's political drama The West Wing, CBS' comedy series Out of Practice and a recurring role on The Good Wife (CBS).

MaryLand is a co-production of Monumental TV, TeamAkers Prods, ShinAwiL and Masterpiece in collaboration with ITV Studios. The series was created by Jones and Anne-Marie O'Connor.
