Showtime has announced the return of two drama series. ‘Ray Donovan’ and ‘Masters of Sex’ will both return on Sunday 12 July for their third season of 12 episodes.
‘Ray Donovan’, played by Liev Schreiber, is a professional "fixer" for the rich and famous of LA. He can make sure that every problem goes away except the problems caused by his own family. The series is Showtime's most-watched new series ever with an average of 5.3 million viewers. ‘Ray Donovan’ has won two Golden Globes and has received several Emmy nominations. In the third season the following actors will play a guest role: Ian McShane (Lovejoy), Katie Holmes (Dawson’s Creek) and Elliott Gould (Mulaney). Cast members are, in addition to Live Schreiber and Jon Voigt, as the father of ‘Ray Donovan’: Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, Dash Madsen, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey and Devon Bagby.
The third season of ‘Masters of Sex’ starts right after ‘Ray Donovan’. The series picks up again in 1966, at the beginning of the sexual revolution, when Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson's (Lizzy Caplan) research is finally published. The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: the Life and Time of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the couple who taught America how to love.
