Six beloved nuns are brutally murdered in the local convent. As the city mourns, secrets are revealed and new clues are uncovered. Spade discovers that the murders are somehow connected to a mysterious child believed to possess great powers.

AMC has now released the first teaser for the series in which Owen (The Knick) stars, co-writes and executive produces. The series will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in early 2024.
Shot on location in France, the ensemble cast of Monsieur Spade also includes Cara Bossom (Deep State) as Teresa, Denis Ménochet (Spotless) as Chief Patrice Michaud, Louise Bourgoin (The Romanoffs) as Marguerite Devereaux, Chiara Mastroianni as Gabrielle , Stanley Weber (Drops of God) as Jean-Pierre Devereaux, Matthew Beard (Avenue 5) as George Fitzsimmons, Jonathan Zaccaï (Le Bureau des Légendes) as Philippe Saint Andre and Rebecca Root (The Rising) as Cynthia Fitzsimmons.
Scott Frank (The Queen's Gambit) and Tom Fontana (City on a Hill) are co-creators, writers and executive producers. Frank is also the director. Barry Levinson, Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Clive Owen, Caroline Benjo, Barbara Letellier, Simon Arnal, Carole Scotta, Carlo Martinelli and David Helpern also serve as executive producers.
In collaboration with the Dashiell Hammett Estate, the series is produced by Black Bear and co-produced by Haut et Court TV (The Returned, No Man's Land) who also produced local production in France and Canal+. FilmNation Entertainment (I Know This Much Is True) is handling international distribution outside North America.
