Amazon gives Mozart a second season and gave five pilots a series order

The streaming service Amazon announced Wednesday 18 February that ‘Mozart in the Jungle’ is going to get a second season. Stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Malcolm McDowell, Lola Kirke, and Saffron Burrows will all return to the exciting world of high-profile orchestras, just like executive producers Jason Schwartzman, Roman Coppola and Paul Weitz.

Amazon also gave five new series of its most recent round of pilots a series order. Many readers will be delighted to hear that ‘The Man in The High Castle’, based on the novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick, will be one of those five series. ‘The Man in the High Castle’ is a drama series that explores the idea of how the world would look like if the allied forces would have lost World War II. Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker are the executive producers of the most-watched pilot from Amazon.

The other pilot that was ordered to series is ‘Mad Dogs’ a dark dramedy that comes from The Shield's Shawn Ryan. Steve Zahn, Michael Imperiol, Billy Zane play a group of underachieving friends as their reunion turns into a labyrinth nightmare of lies, deception and murder.

The last three newcomers are the half hour docu-series ‘The New Yorker Presents’ and two children's series, ‘Just Add Magic’ and ‘The Stinky & Dirty Show’.

Are you looking forward to these new series and are you pleased with the renewal of ‘Mozart in the Jungle’?
