Murder in a Small Town Renewed for Second Season by Fox

The coast is clear, Murder in a Small Town is getting a second season.
Fox has announced that the crime series Murder in a Small Town, starring Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk, has been renewed for a second season. The series, produced by Sepia Films in association with Fox Entertainment and Future Shack Entertainment, is based on the nine-book Karl Alberg series, which won the prestigious Edgar Award.

Four to five of the Alberg novels were used in the first season, with three or four remaining for the second season. The series falls under Fox's cost-effective international content strategy, which is able to manage the cost per episode while achieving solid ratings.

Murder in a Small Town

Murder in a Small Town follows Karl Alberg (Sutherland), who moves to a quiet coastal town to recover from the stresses of big-city police work. He soon discovers that this idyllic place is full of secrets, and he must use all his skills as a world-class detective to solve the murders that continue to occur even in this seemingly perfect setting.

The eight-episode first season wrapped on Fox in November and was a success, with the pilot drawing 11 million viewers across multiple platforms. The series is produced in British Columbia, with Ian Weir as head writer and executive producer.
