Never Have I Ever has been inspired by the youth of co-creator Mindy Kaling (The Office). The series follows the complicated life of Devi Vishwakumar, a modern Indian first generation teenager. Kaling created the series alongside Lang Fisher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
“We are so grateful to Netflix and Universal Television for letting us continue to tell this story, and to the fans around the world who clamored to see more of this badly behaved Indian teenager,” said Kaling and Fisher in a joint statement on Thursday. Netflix has renewed the series with its third season. Back in April 2020, the first season premiered and last July, the second season was released on Netflix. It is not yet known when the third season is set to appear.
