Marcia Strassman dies

Actress Marcia Strassman died, after a long battle against breast cancer, last Friday, her sister Julie Strassman confirmed. Marcia became known for hit shows such as ‘Welcome Back, Kotter’, ‘M * A * S * H’, ‘Providence’, ‘Aaahh!!! Real Monsters’, ‘Booker’, ‘Third Watch’ and many more. Marcia was also a longstanding member of the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild.

Marcia was best known for her role as the mother in ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ from 1989. Her last performance was in the television movie ‘Looking for Mr. Right’ as Opal from 2014. The last TV series Marcia played in was ‘Twenty Good Years’ as Mackenzie from 2006.

After the announcement of her death, Director Bob Weide and Cher reacted on Twitter. Cher wrote: "just wanted to say that a funny, talented friend is deceased." Bob Weide tweeted: " So sad that a sweet friend, kind person & wonderful actress Marcia Strassman lost her brave battle with cancer today.”

Marcia Strassman was 66 years old.
