Corona crisis; which series to watch? Top 5 best anthology series

It has become a well-known image, empty supermarket shelves, empty squares and shopping malls. People work from home or not at all. How can you spend that time? We have made a top 5 displaying series you could watch in these peculiar times.
A series sometimes has many seasons, and the story just seems to go on forever. You will get to know the story, but sometimes you just need a series that tells a complete story in one season. An anthology series would then be the perfect series. Down below you'll find a top-five consisting of five anthology series that should keep you occupied and entertained for the time being.

5. American Horror Story

American Horror Story already has nine seasons. Each season has a different theme within the horror genre. From haunted house to a haunted hotel, from witches to a creepy cult, you'll see it all. The seasons may differ a bit quality wise, but with actors such as Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates it is always pleasant to watch.

4. The Terror

Just to stay in the horror genre for a while as The Terror is also part of the category. So far, the series consists of two seasons, but it is highly likely to receive a third. The first season revolves around the ship HMS Terror, which finds itself stranded in unexplored waters. The crew doesn't just fear the cold, but also each other and a mysterious threat from the outside. The second season takes place in a Japanese community during WW2. They also have to deal with a scary apparition.

3. Fargo

Most anthology series revolve around crimes. Fargo, from which the first season is based on the well-known film from Joel and Ethan Coen, is one of the best. Currently, Fargo already has three seasons. The fourth would start at FX in April but has been delayed for an undetermined amount of time. Each season has a new cast and takes place in a different time.

2. American Crime Story

From the same creators as American Horror Story. Crime Story revolves around famous American crimes. The first season revolves around the infamous O.J. Simpson case, who was suspected of murdering his ex-wife and her boyfriend back in the nineties. The second season revolves around the murder of famous fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1997. A third season will release later this year.

1. True Detective

As the first season received a lot of praise, the second season resulted in a lot of disappointment. The third season received critical praise once more. I must say, watch it and judge it for yourself. Each season only has eight episodes, so it doesn't take long to get through each story.

It may very well be that you've already seen these anthology series. There are a lot more; Easy and Black Mirror on Netflix, The Romanoffs at Amazon Prime, Room 104, and Why Women Kill. Have you already seen them or are anthology series not your thing? Don't worry. There will be more top-five lists coming soon.
