As a result, Showtime is canceling the new series Three Women, starring Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Betty Gilpin (GLOW), DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It) and Gabrielle Creevy (The Pact). The drama has been quietly shopped by the producers, and sources say there is interest, with at least one offer on the table.
In addition, Showtime has opted not to pick up season two of two new drama series: Let the Right One In (pictured), starring Demián Bichir, and American Gigolo, starring Jon Bernthal.

The first series, inspired by John Ajvide Lindqvist's 2004 bestseller and 2008 Swedish film adaptation, has also been sold to other platforms by Tomorrow Studios. Sources report that any titles pulled from the Showtime platform as part of the restructuring could be included elsewhere.
This is the last twist in the long journey of Let the Right One In. The series was originally set up at A&E and A+E Studios in 2015, then moved to TNT, where a pilot was ordered and cast, but did not go into production. The series eventually made its way to Showtime, where it aired.
This is likely the end of the road for American Gigolo, who was plagued with issues during production, including an investigation into misconduct and a showrunner change. Ultimately, an eight-episode season was produced on an original ten-episode order.

Writing off completed seasons of series or films has become a favorite method of media companies in the past year. Warner Bros. Discovery has aggressively adopted this strategy and others, most notably AMC, have joined in.
Adapted by Taddeo from the non-fiction bestseller by Lisa Taddeo, Three Women features a group of women on a collision course to radically change their lives. The series is produced by Taddeo, showrunner Laura Eason, Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum. Louise Friedberg directed and produced the first two episodes.
Showtime has other major upcoming scripted series, including Ripley and King Shaka, that are in post-production.
No decision has yet been made about the future of Ziwe and I Love That for You. The first has informally sent feelers to the market, while a second season has been written for the second.
The vampire drama series Let the Right One In comes from Away creator Andrew Hinderaker, Seith Mann and Tomorrow Studios. Described as an exploration of human frailty, strength and compassion through a heightened genre lens, it centers on Mark, played by Demián Bichir, and his daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez), whose life was forever changed ten years earlier when she turned into a vampire.
A modern-day reimagining of the iconic 1980 film, American Gigolo follows Julian Kaye (Bernthal) after his wrongful release from 15 years in prison. He navigates his complicated relationships with his former lover Michelle (Gretchen Mol), his troubled mother and the people who betrayed him. The project is a Paramount Television Studios production.
