USA Network cancels Evel starring Milo Ventimiglia

USA Network has decided to discontinue production on Evel. The cancellation is a direct consequence of the coronavirus and its countermeasures.
The new drama series was supposed to be based on the story of daredevil Evel Knievel from the seventies. The series would follow Knievel as he was getting ready for his biggest death-defying stunt; the Snake River Canyon jump. USA Network has decided to cancel the series.

Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us) was supposed to portray Knievel. Etan Frankel (Shameless (US)) has written the series. The recording was supposed to begin somewhere this year, but that never happened due to the countermeasures against the coronavirus. The full cast and crew were already revealed, but it would be an impossible task to ensure that they would all be available at a later time to continue production. The virus has killed the series, for now. There is still a chance for it to be sold to a different network.
