Netflix cancels The Society and I Am Not Okay With This

The Society and I Am Not Okay With This have been cancelled by Netflix. Neither series will have a second season.

Last year, Netflix renewed The Society with a second season. Despite this renewal, there's not going to be a second season. Due to the coronavirus, plans have changed and the series has been cancelled.

I Am Not Okay With This has also been cancelled by Netflix. The series premiered on Netflix earlier this year. A second season had not yet been announced, but a script was supposedly already written.

“We’ve made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This,” Netflix said in a statement to Deadline. “We’re disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID." Kathryn Newton - the lead actress in The Society - also talked about Netflix's decision.

I haven't seen both series, but if this is because of COVID-19 then I think it's a pretty weak reason for Netflix. As sir Truffleheart also says, they could indeed put it off for a year. That also happens with other series.
