Lead role for Paapa Essiedu in action thriller Extinction

Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You) zal de hoofdrol spelen in Extinction, een nieuwe die Joe Barton (Giri/Haji) schreef voor Sky.

Paapa Essiedu has been mostly known for his work in the series I May Destroy You by BBC and HBO. He has now been granted the lead role in a new Sky series. It's called Extinction and revolves around George (Essiedu). For those of you who know the movie Groundhog Day, the story may seem a bit similar. George seems to relive the same day over and over again. He is chosen by an organisation that uses this power in order to prevent worldwide catastrophes. George doesn't follow the rules when he tries to save the woman he loves.

Tom Burke (Strike), Anjli Mohindra (Bodyguard) and Caroline Quentin (Men Behaving Badly) will also portray a character int he new series. Joe Barton (Giri/Haji) has written the series. Urban Myth Films will produce the series and Marco Kreuzpaintner (Beat) is set to direct. Supposedly, Extinction will premiere somewhere in 2022.
