Lead role for Jamie Dornan in new HBO Max thriller series The Tourist

Jamie Dornan (The Fall) has acquired a lead role in the new thriller series The Tourist. It comes from Harry and Jack Williams. The Tourist revolves around a British man who finds himself in the heart of the Australian outback. He is hunted by an enormous tanker which tries to scare him away. When the man wakes up in a hospital, he no longer knows who he is. His quest for answers leads him through the vast and ruthless outback. Jamie Dornan (The Fall) will portray the lead role in the new series.

“The Tourist are some of the most exciting scripts I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to go to Australia with such a talented group of people,” said Dornan.

Next to Dornan, Danielle Macdonald (Unbelievable), Shalom Brune-Franklin (Line of Duty) and Hugo Weaving (Patrick Melrose) are also part of the cast. Macdonald will portray Helen Chambers, a young agent on trial. Brune-Franklin will portray Luci, a waitress looking for answers about The Man. Weaving will portray agent Lachlan Rogers, one of the most highly-decorated detectives in Australia.

The series comes from the production company Two Brothers Pictures. The owners of the company and brothers Harry and Jack Williams (Fleabag) have written the series. Later this year, production will start in Australia. It is not yet known when the six-part series is set to premiere at HBO Max.
