We hear that Koch (left picture) will play Erik and Chavez will play his brother Lyle.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story follows a successful first season of the new series, which centered on serial killer Dahmer, played by Evan Peters.
Season two will tell the true story of the brothers who were convicted in 1996 of the murder of their parents, José and Mary Louise 'Kitty' Menéndez. Although the brothers eventually confessed to their parents' murder, they have long maintained that the reason for their actions was due to physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
The case continues to unfold in real time following a new development revealed in May. Erik and Lyle Menendez have filed documents asking for a new hearing in response to former Menudo band member Roy Rosselló's allegations that he was molested at age 14 by José Menendez.
It's still unknown how much of the Menendez brothers' lives will be featured in season two, but Netflix is also preparing a documentary about the duo with access to the duo.
Both Koch and Chavez are relative newcomers to the industry who will no doubt get a boost from leading a Ryan Murphy series. Koch previously appeared in the first season of the popular Starz drama Power Book II: Ghost as the character Chase. Chavez currently plays Spencer Cassadine on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.
Netflix and Murphy's rep declined to comment, but the castings were made before the writers' strike and the American Horror Story co-creator has not been involved in any activity for the project since the strike.
