Nicholas Pinnock, known from For Life, is the male lead in Peacock's limited series Long Bright River. Long Bright River is an adaptation of Liz Moore's New York Times bestseller and tells the story of Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hit hard by the opioid crisis. When a series of murders occur in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history may be connected to the case.
Pinnock (pictured) plays Truman Dawes, but further details about his character are not yet known. The actor broke through as the lead of ABC legal drama For Life, produced by Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, which ran for two seasons. The actor's other series roles include Counterpart, Top Boy, Marcella and Fortitude. He will soon be seen in Steven Knight's series This Town for the BBC.
Nikki Toscano and Liz Moore write and produce Long Bright River, with Toscano serving as showrunner. Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Amanda Lewis will produce for Original Film, along with Amy Pascal for Pascal Pictures. Seyfried and Russell Rothberg also serve as executive producers.
Hagar Ben-Asher directs and produces the first episode. The series comes from Sony Pictures Television and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
