A familiar face returns to terrorize the children of Derry, Maine.

In the Warner Bros. Television produced series reunites Skarsgård (pictured) with other key players from the It film franchise, the director of the two films Andy Muschietti, producer Barbara Muschietti and Chapter Two co-producer Jason Fuchs.

Together they are developing the television adaptation of the Stephen King horror classic, as are the films' other producers, Roy Lee and Dan Lin. Andy Muschietti directs four episodes of the nine-episode series.

Set in the world of King's It universe, Welcome to Derry extends filmmaker Andy Muschietti's vision into the feature films, which have grossed a combined $1.17 billion worldwide.

The series is based on a story by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Fuchs, based on King's novel It. Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti are producing through their production company Double Dream, along with Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Lee and Lin. Fuchs, who wrote the teleplay for the first episode, and Kane serve as co-showrunners.

Skarsgård joins the previously cast Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk and James Remar.

This marks Skarsgård's return to King's streaming TV universe and a reunion with WBTV after starring in the studio's Hulu series Castle Rock. He also had a regular role in Netflix's horror series Hemlock Grove.

Skarsgård was recently seen in theaters in John Wick: Chapter 4 and will soon star in The Crow and Nosferatu, among others.
