Kate Winslet to star in Hulu limited series The Spot

Kate Winslet will star in Hulu's drama series The Spot, for which she will also serve as executive producer. The Spot is created and written by Ed Solomon, who will also serve as showrunner. It follows a successful surgeon (Winslet) and her husband, a teacher, who suspect that she is responsible for the death of a child in a collision in which the perpetrator continued to drive after the accident. As they investigate the case, dark secrets are revealed that will test their relationship as they face the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal.



Winslet (photo) produces for her Juggle Productions together with Solomon and A24. The project was developed and shopped by A24, which will serve as the lead studio and co-produce the series with 20th Television.

Winslet is a highly acclaimed actress who produces under her Juggle Productions, which produced the critically acclaimed Mare of Easttown for HBO and the feature film Lee, a bio-drama about the life of fashion model Lee Miller. In addition, Winslet directed both projects.

On the acting front, she recently appeared in the HBO miniseries The Regime which she also produced and will soon be seen in James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Solomon began his writing career in the 1970s on ABC's comedy series Laverne & Shirley and co-wrote Showtime's It's Garry Shandling's Show. A few years ago, he teamed up with director Steven Soderbergh and HBO for the critically acclaimed narrative television series Mosaic. His most recent work is HBO Max's Full Circle (2023), a six-episode limited series he wrote and produced.
