Syfy's comics-based series Revival has found its cast

Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott and Andy McQueen have been cast as series regulars in Revival.
Syfy's upcoming drama series Revival is based on the Image comic book series of the same name by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton. Production is underway in New Brunswick, Canada.

In Revival, one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this isn't a zombie story, as the "revived" appear and act exactly as they once were.

When local cop and single mother Dana Cypress (Scrofano, pictured) is unexpectedly placed at the center of a brutal murder mystery, she must make sense of the chaos in a town gripped by fear and confusion, where everyone, living or undead, is a suspect.

Dana (Scrofano, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) is a single mother and cop who must constantly prove her worth to a stubborn sheriff, who also happens to be her father. And just as she's about to leave her small town for good, the events of Revival Day change that and instead send her on her most important case yet.

Weltman (Backstage) plays Martha 'Em' Cypress, the younger daughter of the local sheriff. Em has lived a very sheltered life due to a recurring illness and is still figuring out her place in the world. A world that is now turned upside down, especially for her.

Elliott (JAG) stars as Wayne Cypress, the longtime sheriff of Wausau who is determined to keep his town and family as normal and safe as possible - a tall order when the dead come back to life in the town he has sworn to protect.

McQueen (Outer Banks) plays Ibrahim Ramin, a CDC scientist stationed in Wausau to study the bizarre phenomenon that brings people back to life.

Revival is produced by Blue Ice Pictures and Hemmings Films and is created by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, who serve as showrunners and executive producers. Scrofano, Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Daniel March, Greg Hemmings and Stephen Foster also produce.

Hmm, I sense a new trend in the zombie genre. See also the recent film "Handling the Undead".
By the way, I'm always a bit hesitant to follow anything from SyFy, because of their track record of cancellations.

I had never heard of that, but now that I look at it, you're right. And that seems to be similar to Les Revenants (F) or The Returned, the US version of that. Still some series to look up. Thanks for the tip :-)
