Game of Thrones actors joins Sky thriller series Iris

Game of Thrones actors Kristofer Hivju and Harry Lloyd have boarded Iris, the thriller series from Luther creator Neil Cross.
Hivju (pictured) plays Jensen Lind, a troubled genius and brilliant scientist, while Lloyd (pictured below) plays Hugo Pym, an impeccably composed mysterious man who takes on a high-ranking position within The Money, the group that financed protagonist Cameron McIntyre's project .

The pair, who played Tormund Giantsbane and Viserys Targaryen respectively in Game of Thrones, are joined in Cross' series by Marco Leonardi, Angela Bruce and Lorenzo De Moor. They join the previously announced Tom Hollander and Niamh Algar, who will play Cameron McIntyre and the title character respectively, along with Meréana Tomlinson, Sacha Dhawan, Maya Sansa, Peter Sullivan and Debi Mazar.

Described by its creator as "irredeemably suspenseful," Iris follows the titular character, an enigmatic genius, who steals a code from charming philanthropist Cameron McIntyre and goes on the run. Armed only with her deadly intelligence and charm, the clock is ticking for her to find out what the code can unleash before she is found.

The series comes from Cross, best known for BBC blockbuster Luther starring Idris Elba, and is directed by Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul).

Iris is a co-production of Sky Studios and Fremantle. Wildside provides production services in Italy. The series is directed by McDonough and Sarah O'Gorman, and the SP is Tim Bricknell. Susan E. Connolly and Ian Scott McCullough write episodes.

Executive producers are Cross, McDonough; Dante Di Loreto and Jenni Sherwood for Fremantle, and Adrian Sturges for Sky Studios. Sky has the rights for the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, while Fremantle will sell internationally.
