Alicia Silverstone will play a successful divorce lawyer from Los Angeles who is looking for her father. The Clueless actress will star in Irish Blood, a six-part murder mystery series for the AMC Networks streamer. The series is filmed in Dublin, Ireland.
The series follows Fiona Sharpe (Silverstone, pictured), whose life path is determined by her father, Declan, who seemingly abandoned her and her mother on her tenth birthday. After years of channeling anger at him to the benefit of her litigious clients, a message from her father sends her to Ireland.
There she learns important truths about her father and a family that doesn't know she exists, and moreover that the story of abandonment that has defined her entire life - was a lie. A lie meant to protect her and her mother from her father's shady business dealings. Fiona decides to find out the full truth about her father and reconnect with the parent she only thought she knew.
Wendy Crewson, Jason O'Mara, Dearbhla Molloy, Simone Kirby, Ruth Codd and Leonardo Taiwo also star.
Irish Blood is produced by Deadpan Pictures in association with Shaftesbury and AMC Studios. The series is produced by Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Paul Donovan, Ailish McElmeel, Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Alicia Silverstone and Molly McGlynn.
The series comes as Silverstone, who recently appeared in FX's American Horror Stories, wrapped production on Yorgos Lanthimos' film Bugonia. She currently stars opposite Benicio Del Toro and Justin Timberlake in the Netflix thriller Reptile. On the television front, she also appeared in Netflix's The Baby-Sitters Club (2020) and Paramount Network's American Woman.3
