Based on the bestseller Black Autumn by Jeff Kirkham and Jason Ross, Homestead centers on a family's attempts to survive after a world-ending tragedy.
Described as a cross between The Last of Us and Seal Team, Homestead is set against the backdrop of a collapsing civilization and tells the gripping story of two families - the ultra-prepared wealthy family and the military veteran family they've hired for security - colliding in a world teetering on the edge of chaos. As tensions rise and dangers outside increase, evidence grows that divine intervention may play a role in their survival.
Wagner (Lioness) will play Jacq Reynolds, a pregnant therapist in her third trimester who must navigate her new role within Homestead's inner circle while helping others cope with their trauma. Unprepared for the deep religious feelings that have overtaken many survivors, Jacq uses her communication skills to get the most stoic/hurt people to open up and talk about the horrors they have seen.
Page (The Bold Type) plays Tom Reynolds, Jacq's husband and a resilient engineer who is invited to Homestead by his college buddy Ian Ross. Tom soon finds himself at the center of Homestead society. Tom comes from a Texas on fire from the conflict and is grateful for the respite, however short it is.
Esten (Nashville) plays Cain Ross, a tall, imposing figure with a rugged appearance. Cain is Ian's brother and responds to a cry for help from Homestead, but his loner persona clashes with the group's rule that the group lives by the committee's rules.
The Homestead series is produced by Angel Studios, 10ton, Skies Fall Entertainment, 2521 and Radiate Pictures. Black Autumn co-writer Ross is the showrunner along with Skies Fall Entertainment founder Ben Kasica.
The series will launch exclusively on the Angel Studios platform.
