Created, produced, written and directed by filmmaker and The Network founder Aram Rappaport, The Artist is set in the twilight of the Golden Age and follows an ensemble of era luminaries including Thomas Edison (Azaria), Edgar Degas ( Huston) and Evelyn Nesbit who meet at the home of Norman Henry, an eccentric and failing magnate played by Patinkin, and his wife Marian (McTeer) which ends in his untimely death.
Production on the seven-episode limited series is currently underway in Connecticut. The premiere is scheduled for March 2025.
Quinto (Brilliant Minds) plays Delphin Delmas, a white-shoe lawyer from San Francisco. LuPone (Agatha All Along) portrays Rosie Morsch, Marian Henry's (McTeer) erratic and disapproving sister. Rosie is made even closer by the death of their parents at a young age and her love for Marian is exceeded only by her contempt for Norman Henry (Patinkin).
Azaria (Hello Tomorrow!) can be seen as Thomas Edison. The esteemed inventor Mr. Edison visits Norman Henry (Patinkin) to promote his latest technological device. Gregg (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) plays Harry Kendall Thaw, the spoiled son of an American coal and railroad baron. Huston (Yellowstone (2018)) stars as Edgar Degas, the celebrated and controversial French impressionist artist.
