Fire Country spin-off Sheriff Country stars W. Earl Brown

W. Earl Brown has signed on to guest star on the CBS drama series Fire Country. The episode is expected to introduce him as a series regular on the Morena Baccarin-led spinoff Sheriff Country . The new CBS Studios-produced project was set to series in May for the 2025-26 season.

Sheriff Country follows straight-talking Sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the stepsister of Cal Fire Division Chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr), who investigates criminal activity while patrolling the streets of small-town Edgewater, while grappling with her ex-con-artist father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.



Brown (pictured) will play Wes, a marijuana grower who is also Sheriff Mickey Fox’s father and Sharon Leone’s stepfather. Wes lives a semi-secluded life in the mountains of Edgewater, where only a select few know the location of his marijuana grow operation. This illegal business creates tension with his daughter Mickey, the local sheriff.

Wes is a “lovable outlaw” and “Rippie” (redneck hippie). He is kind and generous to his family, especially his granddaughter Skye. But his good intentions are sometimes undermined by his untrustworthy nature, according to CBS.

Before the spinoff was ordered, Sheriff Mickey Fox was introduced on Fire Country in the April episode Alert the Sheriff . When she helicopters into Edgewater, she pursues a money launderer who ends up throwing $50,000 in cash at the convicts while they’re working in the woods. Viewers soon learn that Mickey is not only Sharon’s stepsister, but that she also played an unfortunate role in putting Sharon’s son Bode (Max Thieriot) behind bars before he joined the Cal Fire firefighting program.

Brown was most recently seen in Paramount Network’s Yellowstone (2018). He has also appeared in Apple TV’s Hello Tomorrow! and Five Days at Memorial; Disney’s The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett; and HBO Max’s Hacks.
