Kate Mara is set to star in Apple TV+'s Imperfect Women

Apple TV+ has found the third lead actress for its upcoming series Imperfect Women.
Kate Mara has joined the drama based on Araminta Hall's novel of the same name. Mara stars in the series opposite Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington.

Apple describes Imperfect Women as a psychological thriller that explores a crime that "shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women" played by Moss, Washington and Mara (pictured).

"Imperfect Women is a mystery complicated by perspective that explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that irrevocably change our lives. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the best relationships can change over time,” the synopsis reads.

Annie Weisman (Physical, Based on a True Story) is adapting Hall's novel and is executive producing, along with Moss and Lindsey McManus of Love & Squalor Pictures, who originally optioned the novel; Washington and her Simpson Street partner Pilar Savone; and Hall. The series is a co-production of 20th Television and Apple Studios.

Mara received an Emmy nomination in 2014 for her role in the Netflix series House of Cards (2013). Her television roles also include FX's A Teacher and Pose and Hulu's Class of '09. She also stars in the upcoming science fiction film The Astronaut.
