Annette Bening stars alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in Lucky, the Apple TV+ limited series from creator/executive producer Jonathan Tropper and executive producer Reese Witherspoon. Lucky is based on the bestseller by Marissa Stapley. Taylor-Joy plays the eponymous heroine, a young woman who has left behind the criminal life she grew up in years ago, but now must embrace her dark, criminal side for the last time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.
Bening (photo) plays Priscilla, a dangerous gang leader.
Lucky comes from Apple Studios and is co-produced, written and executive produced by Tropper through his Tropper Ink banner under his overall deal with Apple TV+, along with co-showrunner Cassie Pappas.
The series is produced by Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy produces through her Ladykiller production banner. Jonathan Van Tulleken directs several episodes, including the pilot, and is executive producer.
Bening has been nominated for an Academy Award five times, most recently for Nyad. She recently starred in the Peacock series Apples Never Fall and will soon be seen in The Bride, Maggie Gyllenhaal's Frankenstein film opposite Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Penélope Cruz and Peter Sarsgaard.
