The Handmaid's Tale spin-off series The Testaments casts Lucy Halliday in the lead role

Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean) has been cast as the lead opposite Chase Infiniti and Ann Dowd in The Testaments for Hulu. Like The Handmaid's Tale , The Testaments is based on a novel by Margaret Atwood. And like its parent series, the sequel is created by Bruce Miller, who serves as showrunner.

Set in the dystopian theocracy of Gilead, more than fifteen years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale , The Testaments follows the lives of three women, The Handmaid's Tale's aunt Lydia (Dowd), Agnes (Infiniti), and Daisy (Halliday), whose fates become intertwined as they uncover the secrets of Gilead and the resistance to its regime.



Young Scottish actress Halliday (pictured) has just completed filming California Schemin', directed by James McAvoy.

The Handmaid's Tale lead Elisabeth Moss is expected to guest star in the sequel, reprising her character June, who is linked to both Agnes and Daisy.
