Matlock (2024) Actor Jason Ritter to Play Recurring Role on HBO's Lanterns

HBO's Lanterns is expanding its cast with Jason Ritter, known for films such as Matlock (2024), in a recurring role. Ritter will play the character Billy Macon in the series based on DC's Green Lantern. Billy is described as "a handsome charmer who does his father's bidding. He leverages his family's reputation, clings to his small-town ego, and has everything to lose."

Billy's father, William Macon, is played by Garret Dillahunt. William is a self-absorbed, conniving, and ruthlessly ambitious man who hides his dark side behind a charming facade.



Ritter (pictured) currently stars opposite Kathy Bates in CBS’s Matlock (2024) and has a guest role in the upcoming second season of Peacock’s Poker Face. He has also appeared in Netflix’s Raising Dion, Hulu’s miniseries Candy, and voice work in Krapopolis and Gen V.

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre play Green Lantern Corps members Hal Jordan and John Stewart in Lanterns. The intergalactic agents are drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the heart of America. The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald, Poorna Jagannathan, and Ulrich Thomsen.
