Tom Everett Scott to Play Elle's Father in Legally Blonde Prequel Series Elle

Prime Video is expanding the cast of the Legally Blonde prequel series Elle with Tom Everett Scott (The Summer I Turned Pretty).Tom Everett Scott has joined the series, which will follow Elle Woods (Lexi Minetree) through her high school years. Scott will play Wyatt, Elle's father, opposite June Diane Raphael as Elle's mother, Eva.



Scott (pictured) currently stars in The Summer I Turned Pretty , which premieres its third and final season on Prime Video in July. His television credits also include Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why , The CW series Reign (2013) and MTV’s Scream . His film credits include That Thing You Do! , Because I Said So and La La Land .

The series description reads: “Elle follows high school senior Elle Woods as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.”

The Amazon streamer has ordered Elle to series in May 2024, with creator Laura Kittrell ( Insecure ) serving as co-showrunner alongside Caroline Dries ( The Vampire Diaries ). Reese Witherspoon, who starred as Elle in the two Legally Blonde films, and Lauren Neustadter are executive producers through the Hello Sunshine company, along with the films' producer, Marc Platt. Amazon MGM Studios is the studio.
