Three Actors Cast in Hulu's Murdaugh Murders Series

Noah Emmerich, Kathleen Wilhoite and Tommy Dewey have joined Hulu's upcoming miniseries about the Murdaugh murders. The true crime drama series is from showrunner Michael D. Fuller, who co-created the project with Erin Lee Carr. The as-yet-untitled series is based on the true story of Maggie and Alex Murdaugh's "stranger-than-fiction family drama," drawing on reporting from journalist Mandy Matney, creator of the Murdaugh Murders Podcast, and insider knowledge from years of following the case.



Emmerich (pictured) plays Randy Murdaugh. A prudish, by-the-book kind of guy, he’s the polar opposite of his awkward younger brother Alex, both in life and in law. Their very different approaches have led them to clash throughout their lives, as they vie for the affection and approval of their father, Randolph.

Wilhoite plays Gloria Satterfield. The Murdaughs’ loyal and devoted housekeeper for decades, Gloria has helped raise Buster and Paul since they were children. Deeply religious with two grown sons, Gloria tirelessly and graciously puts the Murdaughs and their problems above all else, even her own well-being.

Dewey plays Mark Tinsley. Handsome, confident, smart, and committed, Mark Tinsley is a prosecutor who is an old hunting buddy of Alex’s and now represents the parents of the girl who died in the boating accident.



Emmerich, Wilhoite (pictured) and Dewey join the previously announced Jason Clarke as Alex Murdaugh, Patricia Arquette as Maggie Murdaugh, J. Smith-Cameron as Marian Proctor, Johnny Berchtold as Paul Murdaugh, Will Harrison as Buster Murdaugh and Brittany Snow as Mandy Matney.

Emmerich played FBI agent Stan Beeman on the FX series The Americans from 2013 to 2018, for which he won the 2019 Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He most recently starred in the Apple TV+ limited series The Big Cigar.

Wilhoite has had recurring/guest roles on NBC's ER, The WB's Gilmore Girls, Netflix's The OA, Paramount+'s Yellowstone (2018), and CBS's CSI: Vegas, among others.

Dewey is perhaps best known for his work on Hulu's comedy Casual opposite Michaela Watkins and Fox's comedy Pivoting.
