Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson Added to Boston Blue Cast

Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) has been cast in a series regular role in Boston Blue opposite Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green. In Boston Blue, Donnie Wahlberg reprises his Blue Bloods role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan, who accepts a position with the Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.



Hudson (pictured) plays the Silver family patriarch, Reverend Peters, a renowned pastor of a historic Boston Baptist church. A welcoming, open-minded man who embraces all traditions, he enjoys leading his church’s traditional Sunday Baptist service. Reverend Peters is the father of Boston District Attorney Mae Silver and grandfather of Detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), Division Chief Ashley Silver and rookie police officer Isaac Silver.

Hudson is best known for his role as Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters film franchise, which he recently reprised in 2024’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. He has also appeared in NBC’s Quantum Leap (2022) reboot, Showtime’s City on a Hill and Spectrum’s L.A.’s Finest.

Boston Blue is produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer TV. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis serve as showrunners and executive producers. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed and Wahlberg will also serve as executive producers. Anthony Hemingway will direct and executive produce the first episode.
