A popular Stranger Things actor has landed his next project in Netflix's as-yet-untitled Newfoundland series. Josh Hartnett will star in the series.
Charlie Heaton, best known for his role as Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things, has joined the main cast of the new Netflix limited series, tentatively titled Untitled Newfoundland Project.

The series is created by Jesse McKeown. Heaton will star alongside Josh Hartnett — who also serves as an executive producer — and Mackenzie Davis.

The six-part series is set in Newfoundland, Canada, where filming will also take place. The story revolves around a hardened fisherman (played by Hartnett) who is forced to protect his family, his community and his disappearing way of life when a mysterious sea monster terrorizes a remote coastal town.

British actor Charlie Heaton rose to international fame with Stranger Things, the fifth and final season of which will be released in three parts: on Wednesday 26 November, Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) and Wednesday 31 December (New Year's Eve).

In addition to his work in this successful series, Heaton has starred in several films, including The New Mutants (as Sam Guthrie), Marrowbone (as Billy) and Shut In (as Stephen Portman).

With this new series, Heaton adds another notable role to his multifaceted career, this time in a thrilling, supernatural setting on the rugged Canadian coast.
