Fool Me Once actress Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth, known for The Sandman, play the lead roles in the new ITV police series The Blame. The six-part series The Blame, based on Charlotte Langley's debut novel of the same name, is produced by Quay Street Productions (also responsible for Fool Me Once) and written by Megan Gallagher (All Her Fault).
Michelle Keegan
Michelle Keegan plays DI Emma Crane, while Douglas Booth plays DI Tom Radley. The story begins with the discovery of a teenage figure skater's body, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead. The subsequent murder trial reveals a web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromises.
The cast also includes Nathan Mensah, Nigel Boyle, Joe Armstrong, Matilda Freeman, Gavin Spokes, Josh Bolt, Ian Hart, and Ceallach Spellman.
Filming will begin this summer in and around London. According to ITV Drama Director Polly Hill, The Blame will be a gripping thriller full of unexpected twists, also exploring themes of police corruption, exploitation, and misogyny.
Douglas Booth
Michelle Keegan is a major asset to the series: her previous project, Fool Me Once, was the most-watched original Netflix series in the first half of 2024, even surpassing titles like Bridgerton and Baby Reindeer.
Besides Fool Me Once, Keegan also starred in the BBC's Ten Pound Poms (in collaboration with the Australian channel Stan), Sky Max's Brassic (which was renewed for a seventh and final season last year), and the BBC's Our Girl.
Booth recently starred as Cluracan in the second season of the Netflix fantasy series The Sandman. He also starred in the BBC miniseries Great Expectations (2011) and the BBC mystery-thriller series And Then There Were None.
