Charlie Hall Cast in Ryan Murphy's Monster Season Over Ed Gein

Charlie Hall (Monster: The Lyle & Eric Menendez Story) has landed a recurring role in the upcoming season of the Netflix anthology series Monster The third season of Monster, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, centers on Ed Gein, played by Charlie Hunnam, the notorious serial killer known as the "Butcher of Plainfield" or the "Plainfield Ghoul."

Gein confessed to murdering two women in the 1950s and made trophies from bodies he dug up from graves. He is suspected of being responsible for other deaths, including his brother Henry, but conclusive evidence has never been found.

His crimes inspired iconic horror characters such as Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Norman Bates in Psycho, and Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs.

Charlie Hall plays Deputy Frank Worden, the son of Bernice Worden—Gein's last victim and the owner of a hardware store. Along with Sheriff Arthur Schley, he discovered his mother's remains and played a crucial role in the investigation that led to Gein's arrest.

The new season reunites Hall with Murphy, with whom he previously worked on Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, in which he played Craig Cignarelli, Erik Menendez's best friend.

Besides Hall and Hunnam, the cast includes Laurie Metcalf as Gein's domineering mother, Augusta, Tom Hollander as Alfred Hitchcock, Olivia Williams as Alma Reville (Hitchcock's wife), Addison Rae as Evelyn Hartley, and Suzanna Son in an as-yet-unknown role.

The fourth Monster installment will focus on Lizzie Borden. The first season, about Jeffrey Dahmer, was a huge success and is among the top three most popular English-language Netflix series.

Besides Monsters, Hall appeared as Andrew in the second season of The Sex Lives of College Girls, returned in the second season of Single Drunk Female, and will soon have a series regular role in Apple's new series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.
